Era stata NBC l’ultima a farlo, quando Friends aveva vinto come miglior serie comica e The West Wing come miglior serie drammatica.
Game of Thrones ha sbaragliato avversari come Better Call Saul (AMC), Downton Abbey (PBS), Homeland (Showtime), House of Cards (Netflix), Mad Men (AMC) e Orange Is the New Black (Netflix), ed ha trionfato nella categoria Outstanding Drama Series .
La serie in quattro parti si è presa le statuette per Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special, Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series, Movie, or Dramatic Special, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie (Richard Jenkins), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie (Frances McDormand), e Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie (Bill Murray).
Congrats to @HBO. The last time the same net won Best Comedy and Best Drama at #Emmys was NBC in 2002: #WestWing & #Friends
