Buoni propositi prima che finisca l’anno vecchio: rimettermi in pari con The Vampire Diaries, che tutti dicono essere tornato ai vecchi fasti e che io ho abbandonato per noia intorno al sesto episodio della quinta stagione. Ed è proprio con TVD e il suo midseason finale che apriamo il primo appuntamento dicembrino di Quotes of the Week! TVD e Kai, che mi sta simpatico sulla fiducia.

Huh, I guess this is that uh anti-magic border. Which means now there’s a psycho loose in Mystic Falls and no vampires around to stop him. Whoops.

Huh, immagino che questo sia il confine magico. Il che significa che ora c’è uno psicopatico a piede libero a Mystic Falls e nessun vampiro in giro che possa fermarlo. Ops.

E ovviamente all’appello non può mancare il caro Damon… Bamon.

She had hope. For both of us. She’s the reason I survived, the reason I made it out. Who knew? It turns out you spend time with someone and don’t kill them you actually become friends.

Aveva speranza. Per tutti e due. Grazie a lei sono sopravvissuto, grazie a lei sono tornato. Chi l’avrebbe mai detto? Pare che a passare del tempo con qualcuno senza ucciderlo possa far nascere un’amicizia.

È un po’ di tempo che non citiamo Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., e torniamo a farlo con la 2×09, “…Ye Who Enter Here”, e un po’ di sano FitzSimmons.

Simmons: We were in the bottom of the ocean in a storage pod, left for dead and Fitz, he said something that caught me completely off guard.
Bobbie: Ah those three little words.
Simmons: Yes, well no. I mean, not exactly. I barely had a moment to process what he was saying or how I felt about it. Next thing I know he’s giving me the oxygen, water’s rushing in and he’s laying there in the hospital bed so pale.
Bobbie: How long was Fitz in the coma?
Simmons: Nine of the longest days of my life. When it finally broke, he couldn’t speak. He just stared at me confused. All I wanted to do was help him. All I wanted was my best friend back.

Simmons: Eravamo sul fondo dell’oceano in una capsula, lasciati li a morire, e Fitz ha detto qualcosa che mi ha presa completamente alla sprovvista.
Bobbie: Ah, le tre paroline magiche.
Simmons: Sì, cioè no. Non proprio. Non ho nemmeno avuto tempo di assimilare ciò che stava dicendo o come mi sentissi a riguardo. L’unica cosa che so è che mi ha passato l’ossigeno, l’acqua stava entrando dentro e che poi lui si è ritrovato pallidissimo in un letto di ospedale.
Bobbie: Quanto è rimasto in coma Fitz?
Simmons: I nove giorni più lunghi della mia vita. Quando finalmente si è risvegliato non riusciva a parlare. Mi fissava confuso. Tutto ciò che volevo fare era aiutarlo. Volevo solo riavere il mio migliore amico.

Fermiamoci ora un attimo a parlare del CROSSOVER – tutto maiuscolo – per eccellenza, ovvero quello fra The Flash e Arrow. Io l’ho amato dal primo all’ultimo minuto, anche se ho leggermente preferito l’episodio di Arrow, ma comunque penso che entrambi i personaggi siano cresciuti tantissimo nel corso di questi due episodi. Andiamo però con ordine e partiamo dalla 1×08 di The Flash e da un’abitudine che i nostri eroi paiono avere in comune… anche se uno dei due non se ne rende conto.

Oliver: We can talk about you giving your enemies silly code names later.
Barry: What, you mean like over coffee with Deathstroke and The Huntress?

Oliver: Avremo modo di discutere più tardi della tua abitudine a dare soprannomi stupidi ai tuoi nemici.
Barry: Tipo davanti a un caffè con Deathstroke e The Huntress?

Oliver ovviamente non può perdere l’occasione di trascinare Barry nella sua spirale di depressione sentimentale. Sigh.

Nella 3×08 di Arrow, “The Brave and the Bold”, è il turno di Barry di fare da grillo parlante a Oliver.

I think you’re full of crap. Look, you’ve convinced yourself that you’ve traded away your humanity, but I think it’s because of your humanity that you made it through. You wouldn’t have survived, much less come out a hero – somebody that wants to do good – if you didn’t have a light inside of you.
